Buy a common marmoset . A marmoset’s tail is not prehensile, meaning they can’t use it to hold onto things. They use it for balance, nothing more. Like humans, marmosets are diurnal. This means they sleep at night and are most active during the day. Marmosets are considered one of the most intelligent monkey species because of their large brains relative to their body size. They have a very powerful voice and have about 25-30 different calls.

About marmosets

Marmosets, also called finger monkeys, are small New World monkeys with a body length of 14–19 cm (excluding the long tail) and an average body weight of 300–500 g. The common marmoset is also known as the white-tufted marmoset or cotton-eared marmoset; it has a white blaze on its forehead and white ear tufts.

Do marmosets bite?

Monkeys bite. They bite during play, during normal interaction, and they may bite to be mean or to get their way. Just as a child needs to learn that there are acceptable and unacceptable levels of behavior, your marmoset needs to learn that too.
